Bold, Belonging Educational Programs at Know Theatre
Founded in Season 27, the Know Theatre offers a wide range of educational programs: youth theatre camps, understudy programs, and educational matinees. We’re committed to building belonging through bold theatre, and that starts with education across all ages and experiences. Youth Education
Over the course of 4 weeks, students create a fully-devised theatre production that culminates in multiple performance opportunities on the MainStage. Dorothy has returned to Oz, but nothing is quite the way she left it – the world has fallen to ruin, and her beloved companions have vanished. Can she join up with a new group of friends to bring Oz back to life? Join us and find out!
An educational experience focused on combining dramatic and technical skills allowing for self-exploration through the world of puppetry, taught by Zoë Peterson. Skills taught in this course include collaboration, ensemble building, playwriting, design, and acting through voice and movement.

For Season 28, the Know Theatre, through the generosity of the William J. Baude – Maurice E. Oshry Fund, is able to contract 12 understudies and 1 Assistant Stage Manager for the 2025/2026 Season. All understudies and the ASM are current college students or recent college graduates. In addition to being “on call” for all performances, the understudies are also guaranteed a full performance during the regularly scheduled run of a MainStage production.
